This month we have been celebrating Mr. Collence Nyazenga for his many contributions in his 10 years of being employed at Education Matters. Collence is one of the co-founders of the USAP Community School and since its opening in 2020, Collence has provided a wealth of knowledge, support, and expertise into building not only the physical school structure, but the intangible values that ground the USAP Community.

Collence is a USAP alum who studied Physics and Mathematics at Haverford College, graduating in 2014. He returned to Zimbabwe in 2017 and joined Education Matters later that year as a college access counselor.

In 2020, Collence co-founded the USAP Community School, where he served as its first Physics teacher and Operations Manager. Admired by his students for his sharp wit and generous smile, he later transitioned from the classroom to oversee the construction of the school’s permanent campus in Marondera. Collence also served as the acting Head of School prior to his departure from the USAP Community School this June.

We are grateful for Collence's vision and contributions to the Education Matters' and USAP Community School teams during his 10 years working with us. We look forward to seeing him make an impact in his future endeavours.
