Watch: How to Apply to USAP
Before you begin, watch this short video by our USAP Media Club outlining everything you need to know about the application process:
Who We’re Looking For
Every year, we seek Zimbabwean students with extraordinary potential and limited financial means. Applicants must currently be in their final year of A-Level or have recently completed A-Levels. USAP is need-based, non-fee-paying, and highly competitive.
We select students based on the following four core criteria:
Academic Excellence
USAP Scholars consistently demonstrate a high level of academic achievement, curiosity, and critical thinking. Whether through top A-Level results, participation in academic clubs, or independent research, we’re looking for students who love to learn and push boundaries.
Academic success shows a student’s potential to thrive in the world’s most rigorous university environments.
Demonstrated Leadership Potential
Our students take initiative—in school, communities, or families. Leadership might look like starting a club, organizing a fundraiser, or mentoring younger students. We’re looking for bold thinkers with the courage to act and the ability to inspire others.
Leadership isn’t about titles; it’s about action and vision.
Strong Ethos of Giving
Service is at the heart of USAP. We look for students who are already giving back—tutoring peers, caring for family, volunteering in their neighborhoods. This spirit of contribution is what makes USAP a community, not just a program.
True leaders serve. USAP students uplift others as they rise.
Economic Disadvantage
USAP exists to open doors for students with limited financial resources. We give preference to students who would otherwise be unable to access international higher education without full financial aid.
Your financial need won’t hold you back—it’s why we exist.
